ALTITUDE DAY & SOCIAL PROGRAMS
Good days, new experiences and real connections.
Our day and social programs have had a great response because they are built around something simple: doing enjoyable things with good people, while building confidence, skills and community connection along the way.
More than an activity
The best programs create opportunities for people to try things, connect with others and build confidence in a relaxed setting.
Build confidence
Trying new activities with the right support can help people feel more comfortable making choices, solving problems and taking the lead.
Make friendships
Shared interests and regular social activities can create genuine opportunities to meet people and form connections.
Grow independence
Everyday community experiences can build practical skills, routines and confidence that carry over into other parts of life.
Give families breathing room
Reliable programs can give families and carers time to reset while participants are enjoying meaningful, supported activities.
What might a program include?
Programs change over time and are shaped around participant interests, suitability and availability. Activities can include community outings, sport and recreation, beach and outdoor activities, swimming, creative activities, local attractions, social events and other shared experiences.
We keep the focus on participation rather than simply filling time. The aim is for people to enjoy themselves while also building confidence, social connection and everyday capacity.
What life with Altitude can look like
These are real examples of community participation, creativity, friendships and new experiences with Altitude.

All-abilities touch football
Connections in the local community matter. Taking part in local all-abilities touch football creates opportunities for sport, routine, confidence, teamwork and friendships.

Weekly art at Tinkat Alley
Each week, Jess and I head to Tinkat Alley Art Studio for art class. Recently, both of our work was featured in their exhibition. Jess was also surprised with a beautiful bunch of flowers from the class to recognise her for bringing morning tea every week — a lovely moment of belonging and community.

Annual Sydney Royal Easter Show trips
Our annual trips to the Sydney Royal Easter Show are a full day of activities and new experiences. Transport and support are provided as part of the planned outing, with the focus on participation, enjoyment and making the day accessible.

Local outings & active days
Community access can be as simple as getting outdoors, exploring somewhere local and doing more of the things a person enjoys. The goal is meaningful participation, not just filling time.
Who are the programs for?
Day and social programs may suit participants who want more community participation, new interests, social connection or structured activities outside the home. We can discuss the participant’s interests, support needs and funding arrangement before deciding whether a particular program is a suitable fit.
