Community access in Lake Macquarie
Community access may include appointments, shopping, errands, local activities, exercise, hobbies, visiting community venues or simply getting out and doing more of the things the participant enjoys. We aim to make support purposeful and participant-led.
For some people, community support is also a chance to practise planning, communication, money skills, decision-making and confidence in public settings.
Support at home
In-home disability support can assist with everyday routines such as meal preparation, household tasks, shopping preparation and maintaining a comfortable home environment. We work respectfully in the participant’s space and encourage independence wherever appropriate.
A support arrangement that fits
Before regular supports begin, we talk through the participant’s goals, routine, communication preferences, interests, preferred times and worker preferences. Where we have capacity, we then work towards a suitable worker match and a clear ongoing arrangement.
Funding
Self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants are welcome. If you are unsure how a support relates to your individual NDIS funding, you can confirm this with your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIS.
